In March 2006, top welterweights Georges St-Pierre and BJ Penn fought for the division’s No. 1 contender’s spot. Parisyan made his UFC debut on September 23, 2003. His current UFC record is 25-4. Parisyan's latest fight was on December 13, 2006 at UFC Fight Night 7 on Spike TV against Drew Fickett, where Parisyan won by a unanimous decision.

Karo Parisyan set for return from suspension, to face Dustin Hazelett at UFC 106

Six-year UFC veteran Karo Parisyan (18-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC) returns to action for the first time since a March suspension stemming from his UFC 94 bout with Dong Hyun Kim when he faces rising prospect Dustin Hazelett (12-4 MMA, 5-2 UFC).
In his first fight since a stunning victory over Wanderlei Silva at UFC 79, UFC legend Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell is back to face undefeated light heavyweight contender Rashad "Sugar" Evans. Will Evans plow through Liddell to jump to the top of the 205-lb. rankings? Or will Liddell successfully continue his crusade to regain the UFC Light Heavyweight Title?
Karo Parisyan (25-4) will fight Octagon newcomer Ryo Chonan (14-7) — not Hector Lombard — at UFC 78: “Validation” on November 17 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., according to WrestlingObserver.com.
